Niels Schneider

Interview

Niels Schneider plays a farmer’s son who comes back to see his sick mother after twelve years in Canada. His father no longer speaks to him and his brother killed himself, leaving a six years old son and a beautiful widow (Adèle Exarchopoulos). Jessica Palud’s first feature film, Revenir is an adaptation of Serge Joncour’s novel L’amour sans le faire (Flammarion). The filmmaker changed the title to give her two leading actors more sensuality. As he explains in his interview, Niels Schneider was seduced by the sens of « non-dit » (unsaid words) and the modern gaze that carries the script towards the farmer’s world.

We met the 32 years old actor, discovered by Xavier Dolan (Heartbeats, I killed my mother) and a must in french cinema (An impossible love, Dark Inclusion, Sympathy for the devil…), also at the Arcs Film Festival where the movie was presented.

A must actor in french cinema.
