White Sea

A girl from the sun

November 21st. Californian White Sea composed the music of Eva Husson’s film, Girls of the Sun (Les Filles du soleil). Musician, actress and director, she played with the French electro band M83. Interview at the last Cannes Film Festival.

Les Filles du soleil tells the story of a Kurdish fighter, former hostage of Daesh, embodied by Golshifteh Farahani. The movie has been well received by the audience in Cannes and the Festival permitted the film to be bought by more than 15 countries including China, Germany and Japan.

White Sea, 34 years old, came to defend her music during Cannes Soundtrack, the parallele competition for the original soundtracks of the official selection’s films. She tells us about her work with the french director Eva Husson (Bang Gang) that she meet 17 years ago while acting in one of her short film in Los Angeles.
