There was no distinction for the best music in the official prize list of the Cannes Film Festival. A lack repaired since 2010 by Cannes Soundtrack which rewards each year an original soundtrack composer of one of the films selected in the official competition.

There is no distinction that rewards the best music in the official prize list of the Cannes Film Festival. A lack repaired since 2010 by Cannes Soundtrack which rewards each year an original soundtrack composer of one of the films selected in the official competition.

A record that honors the electronic music since Oneohtrix Point Never received it in 2017 for Good Time and Cliff Martinez for The Neon Demon in 2016.

Thanks to the jury of 26 young and open-minded french critics brought together by Vincent Doerr … Among whom Philippe Guedj (Le Point Pop), Perrine Quennesson (Trois Couleurs), Theo Ribeton (Les Inrocks), Philippe Rouyer (Positif) , Yal Sadat (Chronicart) or Nicolas Schaller (Obs).

They are in competition this year : Giong Lim (rewarded in 2015 for The Assassins) for Ash is purest white by Jia Ziang-Ke. Haruomi Hosono (founder of the Yello Magic Orchestra withe Ryuichi Sakamoto) for Manbiki kazoku by Hirokazu Kore-eda. The trumpet player Terence Blanchard (Spike Lee’s official composer since Jungle Fever, 1991) for Blackkklansman still by Spike Lee. Or White Sea (american musician member of the french band M83 for seven years)  for Les filles du soleil by Eva Husson.
