Rocketman

An autobiopic

Trailer. Dexter Fletcher, director (non-credit) of Bohemian Rhapsody comes back with a new musical biopic, Rocketman, this time dedicated to the British pop singer Elton John.

Obviously very flexible, the director of Eddie the Eagle knew how to slalom between the requirements of the beneficiaries of Freddy Mercury and the members of Queen. Which didn’t prevent the insipid Bohemian Rhapsody to win the best dramatic movie Golden Globe. This time he has a try in a movie about Elton John directed by Elton John.

Describing the life of an English star from his childhood to his worlwide recognition

The trailer of Rocketman is pretty attractive. Describing the life of a English star from his childhood to his worlwide consecration, the movie looks like the image of the singer: colourful and eccentric. It seems like it mixes comedy (musical?) with drama, dream with reality, this trailer gives us a taste of what will be released in our theatres on May 29: his beginnins with Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell), his complicated relationship with his mother (Bryce Dallas Howard), or even his relationship with his lover and manager John Reid (Richard Madden). Without drawing a veil over his addictions.

At the head of this quartet, Taron Egerton- discovered in Kingsman and with whom Dexter Fletcher has already worked on Eddie the Eagle [https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=5&v=1YGf4WYDrQo] – who has to wear feathers, strass and glasses in order to embody Elton John in this portrait of the artist by himself.
