Night Comes On is the first movie directed by the American comedian Jordana Spiro (seen on the serie Ozark on Netflix). Angel (Dominique Fishback) is released on parole the day before her 18th birthday. The young Afro-American just spent a year in a juvenile prison in the Philadelphia area because of an arrest for carrying a weapon.

A raw and modest film whose silences, unveiling – often more than words – feelings of characters

On a quest of vengeance, she makes a first stop at a weapon dealer’s home. A second will be for her little sister Abby (Tatum Marilyn Hall), placed on a foster family since their mother death. But her true purpose is to found their father which is their mother murderer.

Night Comes On is a raw and modest film whose silences, unveiling – often more than words – feelings of characters. Bold and determined, Angel must assume his past of delinquency and mourning. Ready for all, she accepts giving her body to obtain a weapon for revenge her mother. But the director Jordana Spiro shows above all the love power. Will Angel’s empathy for her younger sister be enough to divert her from her plan ?
